Very professional garage, great communication and quality work. I sent my daughter over to have them diagnose and repair and weak idle condition and oil leak. They made the repairs and got her on the road the same day! I highly recommend, It's hard to find a honest and quality shop. Great job guys!!!

I came into Subie Independent because not only was my car telling me 'engine is overheated,' but so many lights on my dash were flashing at me.

I don't know what to say about the owner and the men who work with him, but these men are of the highest integrity I have ever met. They are honest, highly skilled and gave me an unbeatable deal. I can't say enough good things about this auto shop but if you drive a Subaru, don't even consider going anywhere else. I'll be a customer for life!!! Much thanks!!!

I have two stories to tell. First, I brought my beloved 2014 BRZ in because my check engine light had come on. They immediately diagnosed what was a well-known (and expensive) problem with the camshaft timing, and said it wasn't worth them doing the work because of the hit-and-miss process of diagnosis. But gave me INCREDIBLE guidance on how to handle the issue with Subaru. Their advice saved me nearly $2000 on the repair.

During the engine repair, Subaru also found an issue with one of my struts. The car had 90K miles on it, so this wasn't a surprise. But I saved that repair, along with some necessary brake work to take to Subie Independent. They replaced all 4 struts, and completed the brake work in less than a day. The car now drives better than when I bought it 6 years ago. Could not recommend more highly!

Dealership said no leak even though I had pictures. Did my research and took my Outback here even though it wasn't 't close. They diagnosed the leak and fixed it quickly. Mark and Victor were great, presented a fair price and kept me informed throughout the whole process. I am extremely happy and would highly recommend them. Also, if you need a loaner, there is a car rental place two doors down that offer shop prices which makes it super convenient. Thanks again Mark and Victor!

These guys are GREAT! They were super helpful and kind, and made sure to find out where a leak was coming from (different spot and less expensive to fix than what the dealer had told me). I felt very well taken care of and super appreciated the link to download the inspection, complete with photos of the problems they found. It was also incredibly easy to sign off on the work order that was also texted as a link for me, with the ability to accept or decline suggested work. Victor even asked his guys to lift my car back up so he could show me in person where the leak was coming from.

I've been nervous about trying to find another mechanic that is closer to where I live now, and the overall Yelp reviews really lived up to attesting that this place is great. Everyone was kind and answered my questions without making me feel like a car dummy.

I am pleased as punch to find a Subaru specific mechanic and plan to continue to bring my car here, as well as recommend to my Subie friends in the area.

Thanks for taking such good care of me!

Just left Subie Ind. and couldn't be happier. I came here for a second opinion after getting a diagnosis from the Subaru Sherman Oaks service center, that my turbocharger assembly needed to be replaced entirely because of oil leaking out of it into my exhaust which caused a burning smoky smell when I turned on my Subaru ascent. Subaru quoted me $2500 not counting the time and fee for a loaner car.

When Mark and Jose at Subie took a look, it was a small hose clamp that needed to be replaced. It was so ridiculous that they did it in 5 minutes.

Subie just gained a customer for life. Highly recommend for honesty and integrity.

Now, Excuse me while I write my review on Subaru Sherman Oaks Service Center....

First time I brought my Crosstrek into SUBIE Independent and I was very impressed. My car was due for 60,000 mile service and after calling Monrovia Subaru ($1300) and Thousand Oaks Subaru ($1800), I was on the hunt for an alternative place that specializes in Subarus. These guys operate differently than your automatic 60,000 mile service at a dealer. They provide a thorough inspection of your vehicle for $150, then they tell you what your car needs based on their inspection. My car needed a wheel alignment and front and rear differential fluid changed. The total was $750. The owner, Mark and Tyler were so pleasant to work with. My experience here was a good one, and how often can you say that when dealing with car service?

Came here after finding them on the Subaru forum website, was urgently looking for someone to fix my transmission. I was expecting to spend at least 5 grands based off of what a few mechanics told me but they quoted me less, which I was happy with. They called me to update me and even saved the broken stuff they replaced to show me. I just picked it up yesterday and it feels so smooth changing gears now. Definitely recommend.

After being told by three (3) shops that I needed a new catalytic converter on my trusty 2007 Forester, which would have cost +-5K due to needing the dealer part (CARB aftermarket part wouldn't be compliant for this car), I decided to make the crosstown trek to Subie Independent. Mark, Victor, and crew ran a diagnostic and found the issue - spark plugs. This ended up costing me about 5% of what the other shops estimated. If I had replaced the CAT as the other shops recommended, the car still wouldn't have passed smog. They saved a perfectly good vehicle from going to the dismantler. Highly recommended!
